Your Ceremony, Your Setting
Say your vows in one of several picturesque locations throughout the gardens around the Castle, from 5 pm as the light softens across the Otago Peninsula.
Favoured ceremony spots include the Cirrcular Lawn with Dunedin city framed in the distance, or with the Castle behind you, our Reflection Pond within our stunning Green Room, under our beautiful 1930s Cupola near the herbaceous border, The Lost Rock Garden, or The Alice Lawn. The Upper and Lower Veranda also provide beautiful undercover options.
Ceremony access is exclusively available to couples hosting their Reception at Larnach Castle.
The Grand Ballroom Reception
The Grand Ballroom is one of New Zealand’s most extraordinary event spaces. It features period architecture, glorious furnishings, magnificent chandeliers, baronial open fires, and a polished sprung dance floor.
The Ballroom can accommodate up to 180 guests banquet style with no dancefloor, or 150 gueests banquent style with a dancefloor in a variety of settings that can be coordinated to suit your requirements.
For groups with larger numbers, with the addition of a courtyard marquee can be added (additional cost). Up to 250 guests can be seated with this arrangement.
The Ballroom is complemented by a cloakroom, fully equiped bar, and modern washroom facilities.
Exceptional Cuisine, All Created On Site
Our menus are design and created by our own team of experienced chefs, and we pride ourselves on catering to most dietary requirements. Couples can choose from relaxed buffet options, or a more formal table d'hote service.
Something more intimate? Discover Camp Estate
Camp Estate is our luxurious country house positioned on Larnach Castle land, boasting both rural and harbour outlooks.This is our 5-Star property which offers complete privacy and is available for exclusive hire.
Built from local bluestone, the house features a spectacular marble staircase, five bedrooms and panoramic views across the Otago Harbour. Ceremonies can take place on the grand marble mezzanine or the front lawn with spectacular views. There is a function or conference room and numermous entertaining areas.
All of this makes Camp Estate the perfect setting for an intimate and luxurious wedding day.

With three styles of on-site accommodation, your closest family and friends can stay right on Castle grounds, waking up to garden and / or harbour views and a cooked breakfast before the day begins.
