Getting Here

Larnach Castle is situated on the Otago Peninsula. Our address is 145 Camp Road, Otago Peninsula, Dunedin.

The Castle is only accessible via car or a tour coach, there is no public transport directly to the Castle. 

There are two roads to access Larnach Castle, and it'll take you approximately 20-25 minutes from the Octagon. Please drive carefully as both roads are windy and can be narrow in places. There are places to pull over on both roads as well. 

1. Portobello Road along the harbour, once you get to Company Bay turn right up Castlewood Road.
2. Highcliff Road along the high road from Anderson's Bay.

We suggest contacting Dunedin visitor centre for current availability and departure times from the city, these can change seasonally.

All of these options also provide a way for accommodation guests to get to Larnach Castle from Dunedin City or the Airport. However you will need to book accommodation in advance and make it clear that you're staying at Larnach Castle.
