A stay on Castle grounds is an unforgettable and unique experience for guests. Our Larnach Lodge has 12 rooms and is situated in the South Seas Garden. One of the highlights is the spectacular views of the Otago Harbour, ocean and peninsula. This is our Qualmark Gold, 4-Star accommodation.
Larnach Lodge is purpose-built accommodation within the grounds of Larnach Castle. Being built beside the original historic Stables and over the foundations of old farm buildings, it was designed as a re-creation of a colonial farm buildin.
The accommodation package includes:
- Accommodation in a Lodge Room (up to two people)
- Breakfast in our historic Stables including a beautifully cooked and continental breakfast (valued at $70 for two people)
- Entry into Larnach Castle and Gardens (valued at $90 for two people)

Larnach Lodge features:
- Set within 35 acres of gardens and grounds, perfect for evening strolls and walks.
- Each room has a gorgeous view and the decor encapsulates the historic Larnach Castle setting.
- All rooms have a recently renovated ensuite, free wifi, heating, phone, SkyTV, radio alarm, tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, guest laundry and car parking.
- Close to other unique Otago Peninsula attractions, such as: the Royal Albatross Colony, the Yellow Eyed Penguin Reserve, Monarch Wildlife Cruises and Glenfalloch Gardens.
- Mix of room configurations including King, King split, Queen, and Queen with Single. We can also provide a rollaway or portacot in selected rooms (additional charge).
Key timings:
- Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is before 10am.
- Breakfast is served in downstairs Breakfast Room in The Stables between 7.30am - 9.30am in summer and 8am - 9.30am in winter.
Notes: We will endeavour to reserve the room type you request but this cannot be guaranteed. Please inform our reservations staff if you require a room that will accommodate a wheelchair, or have difficulty with stairs. All credit card transactions incur a surcharge of 2%.
