Larnach Lodge Larnach Lodge accommodation is purpose built within the grounds of Larnach Castle. Being built beside the original historic Stables and over the foundations of old farm buildings, Larnach Lodge was designed as a re-creation of a colonial farm building, positioned with spectacular harbour, ocean and Peninsula views.

Stable Stay |
|
| |
The historic Stables are a 135 year old Category 1 listed historic building situated in the grounds of Larnach Castle, beside Larnach Lodge.
The lower part of the Stables includes the breakfast area; a guest lounge, laundry, and internet area; and a display highlighting the original Stable horse stalls.
The upper part of the Stables includes a further six guest rooms. These rooms are limited in size and have shared bathroom facilities, providing a more economical option for the budget conscious traveller, while still allowing guests to experience Larnach Castle (and have dinner in the Castle).
Please note that this Stable Stay accommodation, although comfortable, is not part of the Qualmark 4-Star rating that covers Larnach Lodge.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served within the lower area of the historic Stables. In keeping with the Stable setting, the atmosphere is more relaxed than dinner, with continental breakfast through to full cooked English breakfast available between 8am and 9:30am.

Dinner
|
|
|
|
Dinner is offered in a Castle Dining Room, and is only available to our accommodation guests. We do not operate a conventional restaurant, but in keeping with the historic setting, we offer a three-course table d’hôte menu served house party style to all guests at one sitting – a chance to meet our other guests.
As dinner is prepared especially for our guests, confirmation of attendance and menu choices must be made before 5.00pm on the day. The menu reflects traditional New Zealand style cuisine with all meat and vegetables sourced locally. Our cellar carries a large selection of New Zealand wines.
